About HHH

HHH is short for Hilma – hönnun og handverk – ehf.

Which means Hilma – design and handcraft – ltd., as I am Icelandic I desided to have the name in Icelandic and use the abbreviation HHH when abroad.

My name is Hilma Eiðsdóttir Bakken, I am a mother of two – knitter with a masters degree in biotechnology. I have been knitting for as long as I can remember, I think my grandma tought me. I started knitting my own designs as a teenager. When I attended university I also attended various craft courses, as I enjoy learning new techniques. In 2016 I had been working in cell research for several years, when my life took a U-turn and I desided to follow my heart into the world of knittingdesign. I signed up for a course to make a business plan and founded my one-woman company in june 2017.

Whether I can make a living of my craft or not, I know I don’t want to live without it.

HHH was founded on June 7th 2017. The main goal is to make haute couture products from Icelandic wool. HHH products are made with knitting machines and hair pin lace crochet.

HHH has recieved funding from various public funds in Iceland, such as: Vinnumálastofnun 2017, SSNV in may 2017 and Atvinnumál Kvenna in 2018 and 2019.
